A Unique Experience
Where worlds shift, characters collide, and performance becomes its own kind of battle.

Spotlight: StageCypher throws four players into a world they’ve never seen before. Two teams enter with no script, no warning, and only their imagination to guide them.
​
The round begins with a drop into a completely new scene — a starship alive with danger, a forgotten cathedral heavy with secrets, a neon alley buzzing with rain and electricity, a quiet grove holding its breath.
The stage is set, but the story is unwritten.

HOW IT WORKS

The Drop
-
Four individuals (two teams of two) are teleported into a never-before-seen world. Think starships, ancient forests, shattered ruins, citadels, deserts, vaults, neon alleys — each arena is carefully crafted and always unique.

The arena is a static, immersive scene built to be interesting, inspiring. There will be limited movement of characters.

Spectators will be limited and are welcome as long as they agree to the terms.

Once the players enter the arena, we ask the audience to keep local chat clear so the performance can unfold without interruption.

Build Your Persona
-
You have 20 minutes to create a character who fits the world you find yourself in. Dress your avatar, choose props, makeup, animations, etc., to shape their personality.

You and your teammate may use a private conversation to coordinate character concepts, backstory connections, or team dynamics. This is your chance to craft your roles before the spotlight hits.

The Cypher

After 20 minutes is up teams will roll for posting order.

Post order will be highest to lowest roll.

The highest roll receives the High Roller Advantage: The World Builder, allowing them to set the opening scene or add narrative details to shape the session.

The lowest roll receives the Low Roller Advantage: The Plot Twist and may write into existence one of the following:

An Environment Shift - Lights out, Weather, Storm, Signal, etc

An NPC with 2 turns

A Secret is revealed.

Each player will have a total of 10 posts

Judges will score based on

1. Character Cohesion & Scene Integration
Did the character fit the world? Were the choices intentional and immersive?
2. Teamwork & Story Adaptation
Did the duo support each other’s narrative? Did they adapt to twists and world details?
3. Stage Presence
Did they bring the drama? Command attention? Deliver memorable moments?
4. Judge’s Overall Impression
Each judge brings their own perspective — creativity, performance, impact, writing, or theatrical flair.
